The Design

The obverse features an elegant Queen Elizabeth II’s effigy through the eyes of Raphael Maklouf. Surrounding Her Majesty’s bust, the inscriptions list the coin's information. They read: “QUEEN ELIZABETH II,” “NIUE TWO DOLLARS,” “2016”, and “2 OZ 999 FINE SILVER,” referring to Her Majesty’s name. This nation ensures the coin’s legal tender status, face value, year of issuance, weight, purity, and metal content.

The biblical scene reflected on the reverse side reflects Ezekiel's Vision.

The artwork replicates Ezekiel’s vision in which he finds himself in a valley filled with dry human bones and is instructed to deliver a prophecy. As he watches, the bones come together into human forms, and God then reveals that these bones represent the exiled people of Israel and commands Ezekiel to restore their lives and guide them back to the Land of Israel.

The coin’s name, “EZEKIEL’S VISION,” is engraved on top.

The absence of limiting rims on these coins allows the full use of the surface. The antique shadow, combined with the dark luster of the proof finish, emphasizes the sense of antiquity and highlights the most intricate design details.

The Biblical Series

The Biblical Series debuted in 2015, promising a complete series of 60 two-ounce coins. Ezekiel’s Vision is one of the 2016 coins and replicates the artwork “The Valley of Dry Bones.” Each reverse side features a famous Bible scene, designed by the renowned French artist Gustave Duré.
