2012 1 oz Moose Silver Coin - Wildlife Series
The Royal Canadian Mint paid tribute to the Canadian natural wild fauna through its short-struck Wildlife Series.
The Wildlife Series issued six coins from 2012 to 2014, each with a limited strike of 1 million units. The Pronghorn Antelope, the Cougar, and the Moose are examples of wild animals portrayed in the series.
The Moose Silver Coin, released in 2012, weighs 1 Troy oz of 99.99% pure silver and is legal tender within Canada.
The moose, also known as elk, is the largest and heaviest specimen of deer. It is a terrestrial vegetarian animal, usually slow-moving and sedentary, but it can move very quickly if it feels angered or startled.
