2010 PCGS MS-69 PL First Strikes 5 oz America The Beautiful Hot Springs Silver Coin - John Mercanti Label
The US Mint introduced the America The Beautiful collection in 2010. It showcases five-ounce silver coins that highlight America's most iconic locations, serving as a tangible reminder of the country's natural splendor and rich history.
The first coin issued in 2010, and the very first in the entire America The Beautiful Quarters Program, was the Hot Springs Silver Coin. Known for its naturally heated springs, Hot Springs, Arkansas, has been a popular destination for centuries. The city also features Hot Springs National Park, which preserves its historic bathhouses and scenic landscapes.
These particular coins were purchased from the US Mint within the first 30 days of their official release and exhibit a proof-like appearance despite being silver bullion coins. Thus, they are sealed with a John Mercanti Label.
John M. Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the US Mint, created numerous designs for US circulating, commemorative, and bullion coins, including the original reverse of the Silver Eagles. In 2021, he was recognized as one of the most influential figures in numismatics.
SD Bullion offers the 2010 5 oz America The Beautiful Hot Springs Silver Coin in a proof-like appearance. It is certified as an MS-69 First Strikes coin and sealed in PCGS slabs with the exclusive John Mercanti Label.
