Among this distinguished collection is the 1/4 oz Gold Eagle, which features the series' iconic obverse design inspired by Saint-Gaudens' $20 Liberty Double Eagle Coin, paired with Miley Busiek’s renowned reverse design.

The Design

The obverse reflects the national journey toward progress, peace, and enlightenment. 

It depicts Lady Liberty striding forward, holding a torch and an olive branch, and includes the word "LIBERTY," the Capitol Building, and the coin’s mintage year.

The reverse portrays a family of Bald Eagles: a female eagle nurturing her hatchling under her wing while the male stands guard on their nest. 

It is engraved with the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” the mottos “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.” The coin also has information on weight, metal content, and face value, which reads “1/4 OZ. FINE GOLD—10 DOLLARS.”
