The Chupacabra is a grotesque specimen that attacks livestock and consumes their blood, which originated in popular Latin American folklore. The name comes from the chupar ("to suck") and cabra ("goat") in Spanish. Chupacabras first were reported in Puerto Rico in 1995, where they had been accused of attacking goats, sheep, and other domestic animals, allegedly leaving blood-drained carcasses. A creature that stood on two feet and looked like a massive reptilian kangaroo with large red eyes was described in early reports. No real specimens have been found, but other sightings have been reported across the Americas, with many reports coming from the southern United States. Since they are both mythical creatures that are famous in their respective regions, the Chupacabra is often characterized as the Sasquatch's southern counterpart.
Each Chupacabra Silver Round contains two troy ounces of pure .999 fine silver. Also, quantities of 10 would fit in a Generic Round Tube.
The obverse of these silver rounds will feature a Chupacabra feasting on the blood of a goat carcass. This depiction of the Chupacabra is based off the eyewitness reports from those who claim to have seen the Chupacabra.
The reverse of the Chupacabra Round features the Intaglio Mint logo, as featured on most other Intaglio Mint rounds. It features a pillar bearing the words “EST. 2010” on it. Behind the pillar is a map of the Earth with “INTAGLIO” above and “MINT” below it. This is surrounded by beautifully crafted lines which are encircled by the words, “TWO TROY OUNCES” & “.999 FINE SILVER”.
