The Design

As the moniker suggests, the obverse design presents a cowboy riding a bucking bronco. The image is initially encircled by a rope. The second circle is a sequence of spikes around the inscription “1 TROY OZ - 9999 FINE SILVER,” which describes the round’s weight, fineness, and metal content.

Striped latent patterns cover the background surface, and a small Buffalo privy mark is on the lower right.
