1915 PCGS MS-64 $10 Indian Head Gold Eagle Coin

The $10 Indian Head Gold Eagle is a popular vintage US Mint issue. When assembling a set of $10 Indian Head Gold Eagles, the 1915 is a very tough date to find in higher Mint State grades. A true "sleeper" coin, collectors did not realize the true scarcity of the 1915 issue until recent years where the value has risen sharply.

The US Mint first struck the $10 Indian Head Gold Eagle in 1907, containing .4838 oz of gold, designed for regular circulation with legal tender status and a ten-dollar denomination.

Production continued until 1933, and many coins disappeared during the economic collapse of the 1930s, similar to other Pre-1933 Gold Coins. Hoarding and melting for gold content contributed to their historical and numismatic value.

Today, SD Bullion presents the 1915 PCGS MS-64 $10 Indian Head Gold Eagle Coin, sealed in PCGS slabs and graded as MS-64.

The Design

On the obverse, Lady Liberty is portrayed wearing a Native American headdress, designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, surrounded by thirteen stars representing the original colonies. The year of mintage is at the bottom.

On the reverse, the Heraldic Eagle is shown with spread wings, holding arrows and an olive branch, with the banner "IN GOD WE TRUST." The words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” arch above the image.

A PCGS MS-64 Coin

PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) is a respected third-party grading service in the numismatic market. Coins are graded on the Sheldon Scale from 1 to 70.

MS stands for Mint State, indicating the coin is in uncirculated condition.

Grade 64 coins may have minor marks and hairlines but maintain an attractive appearance overall. Each coin in this listing is professionally graded and encased in a protective PCGS slab, ensuring its Mint State grade remains intact.
