1907 PCGS MS-64 $10 Liberty Head Gold Eagle Coin
The $10 Liberty Head Gold Eagle Coin holds immense numismatic value.
The US Mint first struck them in 1838 with a high gold content corresponding to .4838 oz of gold, to be a regular circulation coin, with legal tender status and a ten-dollar monetary denomination.
The production ceased after years of regular strikes in 1907 when the $10 Indian Head Gold Eagle Coin replaced it.
Several $10 Liberty Head Gold Eagle coins disappeared during the economic collapse of the 1930s, like other Pre-1933 Gold Coins. Due to the rise of gold prices, coins were hoarded and melted because of their gold content, which contributed to these coins’ historical and numismatic value.
Today, SD Bullion presents the 1907 PCGS MS-64 $10 Liberty Head Gold Eagle Coin, sealed in PCGS slabs and graded as MS-64 samples.

On the obverse, Lady Liberty is displayed with her left profile and wears a coronet inscribed with the word “LIBERTY.” Christian Gobrecht designed her surrounded by thirteen five-pointed stars, representing the Thirteen Original Colonies. The year of mintage is at the bottom rim.
On the reverse, the Heraldic Eagle has spread wings, the national shield in front of its chest, arrows in its talons, and the banner “IN GOD WE TRUST” in its beak. The words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” arch over the image.
The reverse design may feature slightly different elements. For example, the presence or absence of the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” above the Eagle and the coin’s denomination engraved at the bottom, in some written “TEN DOLLARS,” while in others, “TEN D.”
A PCGS MS-64 Coin
The PCGS - Professional Coin Grading Service is an independent third-party company in the numismatic market appraising and grading coins based on the Sheldon Scale, which ranks coins from 1 to 70 according to their condition.
MS stands for Mint State, indicating a coin produced in a business sample format that remained uncirculated.
Grade 64 indicates that the coin may present minor marks and hairlines, with minor scuff marks or defects throughout the design. But still attractive overall appearance.
The coins in this listing all have the Mint State 64 certification from PCGS. They all have been professionally graded and holdered by their respective certifier. The protective plastic slab the coin comes in certifies its Mint State grade. These slabs are subject to light abrasion marks, chips, and scuffs with normal wear on them. These marks do not at all hinder the grade of the coin assigned to it by PCGS and they do not devalue the slabbed coin in any way.
