The Design
Argor-Heraeus gold bars are usually rectangularly shaped with rounded edges and both-sided engravings.
The Dragon design is on the obverse, and it features the creature in a close front-facing position, with sharp paws, a twisted body, and its corresponding Chinese symbol aside.
The bar’s information is on the reverse side, vertically aligned beneath the Argor-Heraeus logo.
The first engraving refers to the company’s country of origin, weight, metal content, and fineness. The engravings read: “Switzerland,” “10g,” “Fine Gold,” and “999,9.” At last, the assayer’s mark and the five-digit serial number are on the bottom.
The Year of the Dragon
The Chinese Calendar is ruled by twelve animals that cyclically change each year. The Dragon is the fifth sign of the Chinese Calendar and the only mythical creature.
