The Nativity Scene is a very famous depiction of the birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus was born in a manger in Bethlehem, Israel around 4 B.C. It is said that Mary had to give birth to Jesus in a manger because there was no room available in the local inn. The nativity stories told by Matthew and Luke differ, but they agree on the main points of the story. They agree that Jesus was born to Mary, and her husband Joseph was present for his birth, however Jesus’s birth was the result of divine intervention. The Gospel of Matthew states that Joseph intended to divorce Mary, however, an angel came to him in a dream and told Joseph to be a father to the child and name him Jesus, because he would absolve the world’s people of their sins.
The Nativity Silver Bar is minted by SilverTowne Mint using one troy ounce of .999 pure silver bullion.
The obverse of these Christian silver bars features the Nativity scene of the birth of Jesus. This scene shows baby Jesus, Jesus’s mother, Mary, her husband Joseph, and the three wise men. The Nativity scene is depicted in a barn, so there is a sheep on the right side and a cow of the left side of the bar. In the story, there are also shepherds present for Jesus’s birth, however, they are not featured on this bar. The Christmas phrase of “Joy to the world” is minted at the bottom of the bar.
The reverse of these silver bars have a blank rectangle in the center of the bar, with small dots around the edges of the rectangle. Above the rectangle is the phrase: “Best Wishes For Peace And Joy This Holiday Season”. Below the rectangle are the words “ONE TROY OUNCE”, “2019”, & “.999 FINE SILVER”. Also minted below the rectangle is the SilverTowne mintmark next to the year of 2019.
