This Loch Ness Silver round will be made by Intaglio Mint from Denver, CO using one troy ounce of .999 fine silver. The Loch Ness Monster is a mythical creature that supposedly lives in Inverness, Scotland, in a large freshwater lake. Although it has been about 1500 years since the story of an aquatic creature living in the lake first arose, every attempt has failed to uncover definite evidence of the animal's presence. However, this did not fulfill the public's enthusiasm for 'Nessie.'

Expeditions by a number of British colleges in the 1960s used sonar to search the lake's depths. But, during each expedition, nothing conclusive could not be found. However they did discover huge objects moving underwater.

The obverse will feature the famed Nessie with her head and neck above the water. In the background will be a depiction of the Scottish countryside. The words “LOCH NESS MONSTER” will be featured along the top of the round.

The reverse of this Loch Ness Silver Round is the same as most other Intaglio Mint rounds. It features a pillar bearing the words “EST. 2010” on it. Behind the pillar is a map of the Earth with “INTAGLIO” above and “MINT” below it. This is surrounded by beautifully crafted lines which are encircled by the words, “ONE TROY OUNCES” & “.999 FINE SILVER”.
