$1 Liberty Head Gold Coin Type I BU - Random Year
The United States Mint issued $1 Liberty Head Gold Coins from 1849 to 1854. They were the official circulating dollar coin in the US and contained .0483 Troy oz of actual gold content.
Three different designs have stamped the $1 Liberty Head Coin. The Type I version only lasted six years before it was replaced by the Indian Princess design. Therefore, these coins in Brilliant Uncirculated condition are relatively scarce.
