The Design

The obverse showcases three mermaids under the water. One of them is in focus, with a stretched arm in a charming call, flanked by the other two, who seem farther apart.

We can see a shipwreck in the background, parts of collapsed ships, and several skulls on the bottom.

The only inscription on this side, which arches over the image, read: “THE MERMAID.”

The reverse design is a pattern to most silver rounds from Intaglio Mint. It features the company’s logo encircled by information that describes the round’s weight, metal content, fineness, and issuance.
