The Design

The front design, created by Jody Clark, showcases Una and the Lion. Clark was inspired by William Wyon’s design for the Royal Mint’s previous coin series with the same theme.

The image innovates the Royal Mint’s standard designs because it is landscape-oriented. It features Una and her loyal lion running side by side, overlapping a decorated backdrop. At the bottom, the inscription “DIRIGE DEUS GRESSUS MEOS,” which translates to “May God direct my steps,” is placed. 

The other side has the same background pattern. The Royal Mint logo is imprinted on the left, and the bar’s weight, metal content, and purity are described on the right as “100 oz 999.9 FINE SILVER.”
