The Design

The reverse depicts a snake coiled in a bamboo trunk. Inscriptions referring to the Chinese character and its translation for “SNAKE,” the year of mintage, “2025,” and a discreet “P” mint mark on the left for the Perth Mint are included.

The obverse, designed by Dan Thorne, depicts King Charles III. The effigy is encircled by inscriptions reading “CHARLES III,” “AUSTRALIA” on top, “1 oz 9995 Pt,” and “100 DOLLARS” on the bottom rim, referring to the coin’s weight, fineness, metal content, and face value. 

Because it is a proof coin, the background surfaces exhibit a mirror-like luster, contrasting with the engraved frosted images.
