The Design
The Dragon showcased in the reverse design has a full-body depiction with a twisted torso, sharp claws, and a long tail surrounded by waves and fog. The image is accompanied by the Chinese character for the creature, the engraving “DRAGON 2024,” and on the left, “P125,” representing the Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary.
The obverse design features the effigy of the former Queen Elizabeth II, created by artist Jody Clark. Her Majesty’s portrait is surrounded by “ELIZABETH II,” “1952-2022,” and “AUSTRALIA” on top, referring to the Queen’s name and reigning period and the coin’s origin.
The remaining inscriptions on the bottom rim explain the coin’s weight, fineness, metal content, and face value and read “1 oz 9999 Pt” and “100 DOLLARS.”
