In the tale, Una is a princess who finds herself in trouble when a terrible dragon imprisons her parents in her kingdom. During her escape, she comes across a huge lion, which, instead of devouring her, falls in love with her beauty and serenity and becomes her loyal champion.

This silver bar, in particular, contains 1 troz oz of 99.99% pure silver.

The Design

The front design was designed by Jody Clark and was inspired by William Wyon’s Una and the Lion design for the Royal Mint’s previous coin series.

The Una and the lion design is portrayed in landscape orientation, overlapping a decorated pattern used as a backdrop, and is accompanied by the words “DIRIGE DEUS GRESSUS MEOS,” which translates to “May God direct my steps.” This text was featured on the original design of the Una and the Lion coinage minted by the Royal Mint. 

The other side features the Royal Mint logo and the bar’s essential hallmarks regarding weight, metal content, and purity, which read “1 oz 999.9 FINE SILVER,” imprinted on the same background pattern.
