The Design

The obverse has a new design. Instead of former Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait, the 2023 edition brings the Public Seal of Niue, the nation which backs the coin’s face value. As Niue is a self-governed country associated with New Zealand, The only inscriptions on this side refer to the coin’s face value and year of mintage.

The reverse design names the coin. The sword featured is a battle one accompanied by a shield in the background. The hidden truth is micro-engraved in the sword’s hilt and reads: “AND IN TRUTH,” from Jonh 4:24- combine with the other releases from the 2023 Truth series to form a Scripture message. 

A snake is pierced on the tip, adding another Biblical component to the design. The inscription “רוח קודש” of the shield means “Holy Spirit” in Hebrew.

The first framed belt encircling the image carries the coin’s weight, purity, and metal content descriptions flanking both sides of the picture. They read: “FIVE TROY OUNCES,” “.9999 FINE SILVER.”

The second belt corresponds to a striking weave of thorny vines, symbolizing a crown of thorns.

The High-relief finish on this coin creates an exceptional presentation of the design. High relief coins offer more of a three-dimensional look to the coin with raised elements above the coin's surface.
