The Design
The obverse, which names the series, suffered a design update in 2023. It showcases a more modern depiction of Lady Justice but maintains its essential characteristics. Lady Justice is still blindfolded, carrying a sword and a balance scale.
The series’ name arches over her, the Latin motto “FIDES ET JUSTITIA” is on the left, and the year of issuance, “2023”, is on the right.
The reverse design features the Public Seal of Gibraltar, along with the following inscriptions: “GIBRALTAR,” “2023,” “999 FINE SILVER,” “1 POUND,” and “1 TROY OUNCE,” referring to legal tender, mintage, purity, metal content, face value, and weight, respectively.
