The Design

Queen Elizabeth II’s fourth official portrait, designed by Raphael Maklouf’stamps the obverse side, and it is accompanied by the inscriptions “QUEEN ELIZABETH II,” “NIUE TWO DOLLARS,” “2022”, and “2 OZ 999 FINE SILVER,” which refer to the coin’s legal tender, face value, year of issuance, weight, purity, and metal content. 

The Deluge, depicted by Gustave Duré, is a dramatic scene in which a tiger, desperately trying to save their cubs, shares the edge of a rock with humans, who also fight the waves to climb the same rock. The only engraving on this side refers to the coin’s name, “THE DELUGE,” at the bottom.

The absence of limiting rims in these coins allows the entire usage of the surface to imprint the reverse design. The antique shadow, allied with the dark luster from the proof finish, emphasizes the aspect of ancientness and highlights the most intricate design details.

The Biblical Series

The Biblical Series debuted in 2015, promising a complete series of 60 two-ounce coins. The Deluge corresponds to the 47th strike of the series, and it was released in 2022. Each reverse side showcases a famous scene described in the Bible and designed by the renowned French artist Gustave Duré.

The Packaging

Each coin is individually packed and shipped in an intriguing bible-shaped box and a Certificate of Authenticity (COA).
