The Design
Like the previous Biblical coins in this series, each Certificate of Authenticity includes a Bible verse that contextualizes the image on the coin. The obverse face illustrates the passage, depicting Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane before he is crucified. A few of his apostles are seen sleeping in the garden near him. Similar to other silver coins in this series, the obverse face of the coin features Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s effigy. Surrounding the image are the following: “Niue Two Dollars,” “2 oz 999 Fine Silver,” “Queen Elizabeth II,” and the year of issue, “2021.”
