Buy 2017 Quarter Ounce Gold American Eagle Coins
Gold Eagles are a prominent name in the Gold and Silver bullion industry; they are an incredibly coveted and popular item due to the quintessential American designs on their faces and the pure Gold used in minting them. This 2017 ¼ ounce Gold American Eagle coin is the second of the four weights that the United States Mint releases annually.
These coins feature incredibly elegant and beautiful designs as always. In addition to this, they contain ¼ troy ounce of pure Gold.
The obverse each of these quarter ounce Gold coins portrays Augustus Saint-Gauden’s depiction of Lady Liberty. In fact, Saint-Gauden was handpicked by President Roosevelt himself to spearhead the revival of American coin designs in 1905.
The Lady Liberty design is identical to the original with minor changes (3 in total till date) in order to conform with the changes that took place in America since that period - the motto on the obverse ‘In God We Trust’ and the increase of the number of stars on the outer rim twice, first to 48 then to 50, recognizing the addition of New Mexico, Arizona, Alaska and, Hawaii to the United States.
Its reverse features two Bald Eagles, the National Bird of the United States, a young one looking up toward the adult Eagle who is landing on the nest with wings spread wide gracefully. The adult Eagle clutches an Olive branch in its talons, signifying the formidable stature of this country as well as the love for peace it embodies.
Each of these quarter ounce Gold American Eagle coins is assigned an official face value of $10 by the United States government and is accepted as legal tender throughout the country. However, it is the pure Gold it is fashioned from and the annual releases of these iconic American designs that give them value in the eyes of both investors and collectors who maintain extensive Gold and Silver Eagle collections.
