The Design

The reverse displays a female eagle cherishing her hatchling under her wing while the male perches on their nest. 

The image also contains weight, metal content, and face value engravings, which read “1 OZ. FINE GOLD—50 DOLLARS.” Additional engravings read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
