The Design

The obverse showcases the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. In the image, Her Majesty is depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain Tiara in an elegant right-profile bust. The surrounding engravings are “ALDERNEY,” “10 POUNDS,” “ELIZABETH II,” and “2011.”

The reverse design features William and Catherine’s busts looking right over a decorated backdrop. The inscriptions encircling the image read “THE WEDDING OF PRINCE WILLIAN AND CATHERINE MIDDLETON” and “29th APRIL 2011.”

Because it is a proof coin, the blank surfaces exhibit a mirror-like luster, while the design elements have a frosted appearance.
