1912-S PCGS AU-58 $10 Indian Eagle Gold Coin 

The US Mint minted the Indian Eagle Gold Coin to be the $10 circulation coin in the US from 1907 to 1919 and sporadically until 1933.

These coins contain .48375 oz of gold, are legal tender, and have an “S” mint mark, indicating they were issued in the San Francisco Mint, one of the US Mint's official branches.

In addition, they are some of the few gold coins that survived the Gold Confiscation Act of 1933, when several Pre-1933 Gold Coins were taken back to the US Treasury, hoarded, or melted down due to their gold content.

The Design

Augustus Saint-Gaudens portrayed Lady Liberty on the obverse side, adorned with a feathered headdress representing Native American heritage, featuring the inscription "LIBERTY." The year of minting is situated below Liberty's image.

On the reverse, a Bald Eagle is depicted perched on an arrow intertwined with an olive branch. The phrases "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM " flank the eagle. Positioned above is the nation's name, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," with the mint mark "S" appearing on the lower left, adjacent to the denomination "TEN DOLLARS" at the bottom.
