1885-S PCGS MS-62 $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coin
The Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coin was designed by James B. Longacre, the fourth Chief Engraver of the US Mint.
It was the US's official $20 circulating coin from 1850 to 1907, containing .9675 oz of gold. It was the largest denomination of U.S. coinage then and was crucial in international trade and wealth storage. The coin’s large size and substantial gold content made it a trusted store of value during economic expansion and instability.
The Liberty Double Eagle was produced at multiple U.S. Mint locations, including Philadelphia, New Orleans, San Francisco, and Carson City. Those issued in the San Francisco Mint issued carry the “S” mint mark.
Today, SD Bullion sells 1885-S $20 Liberty Double Eagle Gold Coins sealed and certified by PCGS as MS-62 coins.

A PCGS MS-62 Coin
PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) uses the Sheldon Scale as a parameter to appraise numismatic items, ranking coins from 1 to 70 according to their condition.
An MS coin indicates Mint State, a coin issued as a business circulation one. Grade 62 indicates that the coin may present marks and hairlines in focal areas but with an acceptable overall appearance.
