Besides the Maple Leaf Series, the Royal Canadian Mint produces other alluring coins. The Arctic Fox Silver coin is one of them, which, unlike traditional silver coins, weighs 1.5 oz.

Also known as the white fox or polar fox, the arctic fox has a thick fur that changes color to become an efficient camouflage. It is brown in the summer and white in the winter.

The Design

The obverse showcases Queen Elizabeth II’s effigy as portrayed by Susanna Blunt. Her Majesty’s name, “ELIZABETH II,” is inscribed on top. The coin’s face value of “8 DOLLARS” and the year of issuance, “2014,” are on the bottom.
