The Design

The obverse features the Coat of Arms of Mongolia in high relief on a central octagon. the image is accompanied by the coin’s face value, metal content, purity, and weight, which read “1000 Torpor” and “MONGOLIA, 2 OZ .9999 SILVER.” The geometric pattern in the background hides the year of issuance. The claw of the Snow Leopard clutching a tree trunk is on the left side. 

The reverse showcases the realistic facial depiction of the Snow Leopard, which gets even more vivid because of the coin’s high relief. As a trademark of the collection’s design, the feline has a full-length ghosted depiction in the background in an attacking position.

Because it is a black-proof coin, it exhibits a darker tone and blank surfaces with mirror-like luster, which makes an interesting contrast with the matte elements.
