2025 Year of the Snake Quadrant - 1 oz Silver Proof Colorized 4-Coin Set
The Australian Perth Mint innovates by releasing a Silver Proof Colored 4-Coin Set to supplement its Year of the Snake collection.
The Quadrant comprises four 1 oz silver coins from the Lunar Series III uniquely shaped to form a circle with a hollow square in the middle. It reproduces the first currency of the Chinese Empire, the ban-liang coin, first cast in the Qin Dynasty around 200 BC.
This 4-Coin Set contains 4 Troy oz of .9999 pure silver, colorized reverse designs enhanced by a proof finish, and was struck in a limited edition of 1,500 units.

The Design
The Quadrant Coin Set has a circular shape with a hollow square in the middle.
Each quadrant has an individual depiction of King Charles III, as designed by Dan Thorne. It includes the coin’s weight, purity, metal content, face value, and the inscription “CHARLES III, AUSTRALIA.”
The obverse is entirely monochromatic and exhibits a mirror-like luster because of the coin’s proof finish.
Opposingly, the reverse showcases a different snake in each quarter, but they make a single portrait together. They depict yellow, green, blue, and red snakes set against an interconnected background showcasing a Chinese landscape.
The design includes a traditional pagoda, a moon bridge, a waterfall, and a winding river. The Perth Mint's ‘P’ mintmark is also on each coin.
The Year of the Snake
The Chinese Zodiac cycles through its signs annually, with each year associated with a specific animal.
The Year of the Snake returns in 2025, having last appeared in 2013, 2001, 1989, and earlier years. Those born under this sign are often seen as mysterious, wise, and compassionate.
As the sixth sign in the zodiac, the Snake is regarded as the most intuitive. 2025 is expected to bring a year filled with romance and excitement.
