The Design
The exclusive design given to the silver coins of the series got terrific colors in this limited strike.
The Dragon, depicted in a frontal close-up, has yellow and blue tones all over its twisted body and claws. The water cascading from its mouth and the pearl, representing wisdom, got different tones of blue to stand out from the other tones.
The coin’s background and further details remain silver. The engravings beneath the Dragon correspond to its Chinese character to “Dragon”, the inscription “DRAGON 2024” to the coin’s name and mintage, and a “P125” stands for the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint.
The obverse differs from the reverse for being exclusively monochromatic. It showcases Jody Clark’s effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the Diadem State Crown.
The image is surrounded by “ELIZABETH II,” “1952-2022,” “AUSTRALIA,” “1 oz 9999 Ag,” and “1 DOLLAR,” referring to the Queen’s name and reigning period, the coin’s origin, weight, fineness, metal content, and face value.
Because it is a proof coin, its surface exhibits a mirror-like luster, making an incredible contrast with the colored obverse design on the obverse and the matte images imprinted on the reverse side.
