The Design

The obverse design stamps the Public Seal of Niue in a central position. Niue is the nation that provides the coins with legal tender, and it is a self-governed country associated with New Zealand.

The inscriptions accompanying the seal refer to the coin's face value of “250 DOLLARS” and the year of mintage.

The Roaring Lion design is on the reverse side and showcases a crowned Roaring Lion, identified as the Lion of Judah by the Aleph Tav Symbol את on the crown.

The hidden message, characteristic of the series, is usually inscribed on the crown band.

The background image is a reflective regal floral-like pattern, highlighting the lion’s most intricate details.

Because this is a proof coin, the piece's surface received special treatment to exhibit a mirror-like luster. So, the images engraved with a frosted appearance highlight the brilliant blank background.
