The Design

Phil Lewis is the artist in charge of the Seven Chakra Series designs and uses kaleidoscopic renderings as a personal signature of his creations.

The colored reverse design showcases the Lion, a symbol of the Fifth Chakra. As blue is the predominant color of this chakra, besides the vibrant yellow tones that enlighten the lion depiction, lively shades of blue paint the petals of lotus on the coin’s borders. 

The obverse consists of a monochromatic silver design, with former Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait in a central position. It is an Ian Rank-Broadley bust encircled by inscriptions that refer to the coin’s legal tender, face value, weight, metal content, and purity. 

They read “ELIZABETH II,” “SOLOMON ISLANDS,” “5 DOLLARS,” “2OZ AG 999.9.”

As a trademark of the series, the coins display flowery formats and a proof-like finish, which means the coin’s surfaces exhibit a shiny bright luster on the background that contrasts with the matt engraved reverse design images.
