The Design
Ian Rank Broadley’s depiction of the beloved Queen Elizabeth II features the obverse side. The inscriptions encircling Her Majesty’s effigy read: “ELIZABETH II,” “5 DOLLARS,” “COOK ISLANDS,” and “2023” regarding denomination, origin, and the year of issuance.
The reverse design is split into two halves. The left half exhibits a mirror-like luster because of the coin’s proof finish, with a red-blue combination to the Chameleon’s tale. The right half has a black silk background, contrasting with the animal’s green tones.
Because of CIT-exclusive Smartminting® Technology, the animal is imprinted in Ultra-High Relief, giving it a realistic reproduction as a live chameleon resting on the coin’s surface.
The only inscription engraved refers to the coin series name: “ECLECTIC NATURE.”
