The Design
The obverse design names the coin. It showcases a hazel brown iris with unique, delicate details.
The iris is the colored part of the eye that controls the entrance of light into the pupils. Unlike other standard eye colors, hazel brown eyes show up in only 10% of the population.
There are no engravings on this design but a tiny inscription of the year of issuance on the coin’s rim.
The reverse showcases the Coat of Arms of Palau, which comprises Poseidon with his trident, a mermaid, a treasure chest, and the engraving “RAINBOW’S END.” The inscription “REPUBLIC OF PALAU” arches over the image, while the coin’s face value “5$” is on the bottom.
