The Design
As in all countries members of the British Commonwealth, the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II stamps the sovereign coin’s obverse. The portrait is Jody Clark’s 2015 image of a mature Queen wearing her famous George IV State Crown. Her Majesty’s and the country’s name is on the upper rim while the coin’s face value of “1 DOLLAR” is on the bottom.
Kangaroos are a national symbol of Australia, and the reverse design is based on Stuart Devlin's idea for the Australian Copper Penny.
“AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO” arches over the animal image. Along with this inscription, the coin’s weight, fineness, metal content, and year of issuance lie on the bottom through: “2023 1 OZ 9999 SILVER”. A discreet “P” on the right refers to the Perth Mint mintmark.
The MintCertified™ Premium Uncirculated Coin Sealed Tubes
Each tube houses twenty-five brand-new 2023 1 oz Silver Kangaroo Coins. The coins are selected and individually certified at the Perth Mint branch. After being comfortably housed, the tubes were immediately sealed with a plastic sleeve to protect the coins and the tubes from undesirable contact during the packaging process.
