The Statue of Liberty Obverse Design

The obverse of the coin is all in silver. There are excerpts of the 1883 New Colossus poem from Emma Lazarus engraved on this side. This is the same poem inscribed on the bronze pedestal of the Statue of Liberty.

In the center of the poem, the circular image displayed is Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait, head of state of the Solomon Islands. Around her are the words: “ELIZABETH II,” “SOLOMON ISLANDS,” and the year of mintage.

The Reverse Design

The reverse design features the Statue of Liberty. In the image, she appears enveloped in the American flag, which has vibrant colors and depicts some of the essential personalities of American history: George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Sacagawea, Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, and Susan B. Anthony.

Under the statue, the inscription engraved represents the collection’s name: “AMERICA THE FREE.”

These Statue of Liberty silver coins are legal tender, guaranteed by the Solomon Islands Government, and have a five-dollar face value. They contain two troy ounces of 99.99% of pure silver.
