2022 1 oz Silver Dia de Muertos 3-Coin Set
This 3-coin set contains three Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins that were ennobled to celebrate the Día de Muertos, a Mexican holiday that became part of the UNESCO list of Intangible Heritage in 2008.
The stunning colorful designs represent a tradition during the celebrations when Mexicans paint their faces to resemble skulls, inspired by the character “La Catrina” by José Guadalupe Posada.
This 3-coin set is limited to 888 units, individually numbered and beautifully displayed so they can be admired without unpacking.
Each coin contains 1 oz of 99.99% pure silver minted with colors and fluorescent glow, which makes the thematic design visible in the dark.

The Design
The inspiration for the face painting that represents the date, Each coin from the set received a different reverse design. The motif remains the Dia de Muertos, so each image contains a portrait of someone wearing a face painting of a decorated skull with hot colors and flowers. The painting contains a special effect that glows in the dark. The only inscription on this side is “CANADA” on the upper rim.
The obverse has a colorful background following the motif’s pattern. But on a central position, the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II remains traditionally marbled. As Canada is part of the Commonwealth Community, its coins usually stamp Her Majesty’s portrait on its obverse.
The Packaging
The package resembles a book cover where the three coins are displayed side by side in the internal part through a blister casing. Each set has a unique number imprinted on the back of the package to demonstrate the series's limited strike.
