Initially created in 1951, the Fender Telecaster was the first mass-produced and commercially successful solid-body electric guitar in the world. The simplicity of the design has allowed the instrument to be an effective component of music over the last 60 years.
The guitar-shaped coin is struck with .9999 fine silver and is shipped in a customized capsule. The reverse face of the coin closely resembles the traditional Telecaster guitar. The silver features the wooden-colored body of the guitar and other colored details found on the guitar. The Fender® 75th Anniversary logo appears on the bottom left of the guitar's frame, while the black pickguard features the coin’s weight and purity.
The obverse face features information found on many legal tender bullion coins, including the Queen’s effigy, backing country of Solomon Islands, the denomination of 2 Dollars, and the year of issue. Lastly, each silver coin is inscribed with a unique serial number. Each coin is shipped in a themed presentation box, making the coin easy to store and display.
