The Mexican Mint has revealed the 2019 1/4 oz Mexican Silver Libertad Coins, which are among the lighter coin variants issued under the Mexican Libertad Silver Coin program this year. They'll make excellent gifts as well as great additions to your tangible assets.
The Mexican Mint was established in 1535 by the Spanish Crown. Although the Spaniards' war against the Aztecs did grant them access to substantial gold and silver reserves, the cost of transportation back to a mint in Europe was much too high. After carefully weighing all the available options, the Crown decided that transporting unprocessed gold and silver all the way to Europe was a waste of resources and commissioned a mint in the Americas -- today known as the Mexican Mint.
Each of these coins contains 1/10 troy ounces of 0.999 pure silver. Unlike other sovereign silver bullion coins, the Mexican Libertad Silver Coins do not bear any face value. Nonetheless, they're struck by the prestigious Mexican Mint and are backed by the Mexican Central Bank.
The obverses of these silver coins bear an image of a Winged Victoria of the Mexican Independence Victory Column. Victoria, the mythological Roman Goddess of Victory, was the Roman equivalent of the Greek Goddess Nike. She is widely recognized as a symbol of Mexican independence. This side also features the famous volcanoes, Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl, set in the backdrop of the depiction of the Winged Victoria.
Snag these 2019 1/4 oz Mexican Silver Libertads and complete your Mexican Libertad sets while diversifying your precious metals investments with pure silver and incredible designs. Not only will you avoid missing out on these limited mintage silver coins but you will also ensure that you buy them only at the best possible price.
