These 2017 (s) NGC MS-69 American Silver Eagles bear a special NGC label that represents the coins’ connection to San Francisco. Since all these coin specimens were struck at the San Francisco facility of the US Mint, these trolley labels add an elegant flair to these coins.
Each of these coins contains 1 troy ounce of 0.999 pure silver, and carries a $1 (USD) face value. Moreover, they are graded near-perfect MS-69 by experts at NGC – guaranteeing that these coin specimens do not display any physical imperfections unless magnified.
These MS-69 graded American Silver Eagles are sealed in a secure NGC plastic slab with a trolley label, highlighting the coins’ San Francisco origin with an image of the famed cable car – the world’s last manually operated cable car system.
The famous seal of the United States is depicted on the reverse of this coin – the familiar Bald Eagle, with outstretched wings, behind a striped shield. Thirteen five-pointed stars hover above this image, honoring the 13 original colonies of the United States. John Mercanti, erstwhile Chief Engraver for the United States Mint, created this design in the same year as the issue of this coin.
The elegant image of Lady Liberty, striding towards the rising sun, graces the obverse of this coin. In fact, this design is one of the most famous depictions ever to feature on American coinage, and is known as the ‘Walking Liberty.’
Since their release, American Silver Eagles have been a popular precious metals product, for expanding silver coin collections and as vehicles for silver investments.
