Buy 2017 Australian Kangaroo 1 oz Gold Bullion Coins
The latest coin in this series of highly collectible gold coins minted by the Perth Mint, the 2017 one ounce Gold Kangaroo coin is now available for purchase. Although the Perth Mint started the Gold Kangaroo series as the Gold Nugget series in 1986, they shifted to imprinting the iconic Australian marsupial, the Kangaroo, on those Gold Coins in 1989.
Known for its quality and finely finished products, the Perth Mint is a well-established name within the numismatic community as well as the precious metal investor community. It was created by the British Empire in 1899 and is the oldest active minting facility in Australia. They continue to mint legal tender as well as numismatic items today, while also providing refining services to the precious metal industry.
Each coin is minted with pure 0.9999 Au (Gold) weighing exactly 1 troy ounce. Moreover, these coins are recognized as legal currency in Australia with the full backing of their government and are issued with a face value of 100 AUD (Australian Dollars).
Just like all coin currency in Australia, the obverse of this gold coin features the image of Queen Elizabeth II, originally portrayed by Ian Rank-Broadley in 1997. This image is encircled by the words ‘Australia’ and ‘Elizabeth II’ followed by the face value of this one ounce coin – 100 Dollars. On the reverse, a Kangaroo is seen hopping across the Australian outback plains. This Kangaroo is surrounded by the ‘P’ mintmark found on all Perth Mint products, the year ‘2017’ followed by the weight and purity of the gold in the coin (1oz. .9999 Gold).
Combining gold coins with a beautiful design, an iconic Australian symbol and the fact that it is minted by the renowned Perth Mint, makes these coins an excellent purchase for people who are looking to expand their precious metals portfolio. Moreover, being backed by the government of a sovereign nation gives investors confidence regarding the purity and quality of these coins. Investors that maintain Kangaroo gold coin collections, i.e. already possessing or trying to obtain coins from every year, must augment their collections with this newly released 2017 Perth Mint Gold Kangaroo coin.
