2012-S NGC MS-70 American Silver Eagle Coins For Sale
Minted at the San Francisco facility of the United States Mint, these 2012 American Silver Eagles are graded a perfect MS-70 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). MS-70 grades indicate specimens so pristine that even magnification does not reveal imperfections on their surface. Moreover, since American Silver Eagles have traditionally been struck at the West Point Mint, these coins are relatively rare.
NGC began grading coins in 1987, incidentally just a year after the American Silver Eagles released in 1986. Ever since, their grades have become a widely-accepted indication of the quality of a coin – with people around the globe trusting NGC grades and willing to pay more for better coin specimens. Using the Sheldon Scale that ranges from 1-70, NGC experts carefully inspect each coin that they certify before determining a grade to assign, according to their guidelines.
Each of these American Silver Eagles carries an official face value of $1 (USD) and contains 1 troy ounce of 0.999 pure silver. The obverses of the coins feature the graceful Walking Liberty image that was created by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916. Although it was initially fashioned for another coin, the design’s elegance and beauty captured the imagination of the beholders. Hence, it is honored by featuring on the American Silver Eagle coins.
Historically, perfect specimens of American Silver Eagles have proven excellent investments. These 2012 American Silver Eagles, combined with their MS-70 grade from NGC and their San Francisco Mint origin (certified by NGC on the label), makes them valuable additions to all American coin collections.
